GATE 2025 Important Dates
The GATE 2025 exam will be held on 1, 2, 15 and 16 February 2025. The GATE 2025 officials website gate2025.iitr.ac.in was launched on 29 June 2024. The GATE 2025 online applications are accepted from 28 August to 3 October 2024 without late fees. The last date to apply for GATE 2025 with a late fee is extended to 11 October 2024.
The GATE 2025 exam will be held on 1, 2, 15, and 16 February 2025 and the result will be declared on 19 March 2024. The GATE 2024 Information Brochure/Notification was released on 15 August 2024.

Opportunities Based on GATE Score
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a prestigious national-level examination that assesses candidates for a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities for admission to various Master’s and Doctoral Programs and Recruitment by some Public Sector Undertakings.
1. Admission
Valid GATE score can be used for seeking admission to:
- Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities; and
- Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
2. Financial Assistance
Qualifying GATE score can be used for seeking financial assistance towards:
- Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities; and
- Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Financial Assistance given to M.Tech students is Rs. 12,400 per month and is generally paid for 22 months. PG Scholarship (GATE/GPAT)
Financial Assistance given for Ph.D. programs (Direct Ph.D. after B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Sc equivalent with a valid GATE score) is Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year.
