SSC CGL 2024 Important Dates
The SSC CGL 2024 Notification was released on 24 June 2024 and the online application form started on the same day. The last date to apply online is 27 July 2024. The last date to pay the application fee is 28 July 2024. The candidates will be allowed to edit their application form and submit the pending application fee from 10-11 August 2024. The SSC CGL 2024 Tier-1 CBT Exam will be held in September- October 2024. The main exam (Tier-2) will be held tentatively in December 2024.
SSC CGL 2024 Application Fees
The application fee of Rs. 100/- is required to be paid by the applicants of the General, EWS, and OBC categories. The SC, ST, PWD, and Female candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam.

SSC CGL 2024 Education Qualification
The education qualifications for the various posts under the SSC CGL exam are given below:
- Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelorโs Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level Or Bachelorโs Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelorโs Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course. Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):
- Essential Qualifications: Bachelorโs Degree from a recognized University or Institute.Desirable Qualifications: Minimum one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution; Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.All other Posts: Bachelorโs Degree from a recognized University or equivalent

SSC CGL 2024 Tier-1 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL Tier-I exam is an objective exam that will be conducted online. The exam comprises four sections having 100 questions (25 questions in each section) which will account for a total of 200 marks (a maximum of 50 marks in each section). The time duration of the Tier-1 exam will be 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- Mode of Exam: Online Computer-Based Objective Test
- Time Duration: 1 Hour
- Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.5 Mark deducted for each wrong answer)
- Medium of Exam: English and Hindi except for the English Comprehension part.

Points to remember:
- There is a negative marking in the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam. 0.5 marks will be deducted from every question that is attempted wrong by a candidate in all the sections.
- The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped and suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

SSC CGL 2024 Tier-2 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL 2024 Tier-2 Exam pattern is given below:
- Tier II will include conducting Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).
- Paper-I is Compulsory for All the Posts
- Paper II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
- Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
- Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions โ Session โI & Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section-I, Section II, and Module-I of Section III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section III. Therefore, the duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the duration of Session II will be 15 minutes only
- It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify in all the sections of Paper-I
- There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
